Kit 236, LR V8 Engine To Series & 4 Cylinder Gearbox Adaption

Kit to adapt Land Rover V8 engines – 3.5 & 3.9 Classic RR and Discovery, 4.0 & 4.6 P38 and Discovery II (Gems & Thor) to 4 cylinder gearboxes in: 

  • LT76 in Series II & III
  • LT77 or R380 stumpy in Defender 90, 110, 127 with 4 cylinder variant engines
  • LT77 or R380 stumpy in Defender 90, 110 & 130 with 4 cylinder 200 Tdi
  • R380 in Defender 90, 110 & 130 with 300 Tdi

Series 1, 6 cylinder Series and 300 Tdi R380 versions are available as special order only, please contact us for more information.  

This kit comprises of an adaptor ring, Spigot bush adaptor with bush and all hardware.

Full fitting instructions included.

Fitting note – When fitting to a 300Tdi R380 gearbox, the cylinder block below the starter motor, and the starter motor, will need a small modification.

  • Flywheel, New, EN8 steel flywheel, drilled to accept 9 ½” clutch. Carbureted, Gems and Thor available.
  • Spigot bush adapter with bush with all hardware
  • Clutch kit, 9 ½” clutch (Series 1, 2 and 2A) Plate & clutch cover
  • Clutch kit, 9 ½” clutch (Series 3) Plate, clutch cover & thrust bearing
  • Clutch kit, 9 1/2″ (4 cylinder, 200 & 300 Tdi 90, 110, 130) Plate, clutch cover and thrust bearing
