300Tdi Complete Engine:
Our complete 300Tdi engine utilises a fully reconditioned 300Tdi cylinder block, the following process is carried out to the cylinder block:
- The cylinder block is stripped removing all core plugs, oil gallery plugs and cam bearings so the block is completely bare, this then goes through a special acid clean bath to remove the rust deposits found in the water galleries.
- After acid cleaning the block is rebored and honed to the first oversize.
- The cylinder face is skimmed, bringing the top deck back to new clean material.
- With all machining done, the block is washed off to remove any swarf and cutting fluid.
- Spray painted black.
- New core plugs fitted.
- New prefinished cam bearings are fitted.
With the cylinder block fully reconditioned and machined the engine build can commence. The below NEW parts are fitted to build a complete 300Tdi Engine, these are all OEM spec:
- Reground Crankshaft
- New little end bush fitted to reconditioned Conrods
- First oversize Pistons
- All bearings
- Camshaft
- Tappet rollers
- Timing Case with oil pump
- Sump
- Injection pump (fully reconditioned to std 300Tdi Specs)
- Cylinder head
- Metal layered head gasket
- Head bolts
- Rocker shaft
- Injectors
- Injector pipes
- Lift pump
- Vacuum pump
- Cyclone breather
- Thermostat housing
- Exhaust Manifolds
- Garrett Turbocharger
- Turbocharger oil feed and oil drain pipes
- Water pump housing
- Water pump
- Power steering pump
- Alternator
- Rear seal (special 2.8 version with extra lower fixings to help avoid leaks)
- Gaskets and Bolts
Some parts within our engine are reconditioned, this is due to OEM parts supply no longer being available. These parts are individually inspected and necessary reconditioning carried out. All cast aluminium parts are cleaned and then vapour blasted to bring finish back to near as good as new.
- Oil filter housing
- Timing belt cover (new fan pulley bearing fitted)
- Rocker cover
- Inlet manifold
- Timing gears
- Rocker arms (tip of rocker is resurfaced and fitted with a new adjusting screw and lock nut)
- Tappet sleeves
- Water pump, Power steering and fan pulleys. (Sandblasted and then re powder coated)
When a complete 300tdi build is finished, the engine is hot tested on our test rig. The engine is plumbed up and the below parameters are checked during a 1 hour test time:
- Oil pressure
- Turbo boost pressure
- Alternator amperage
- Coolant temperature
- Idle RPM set
After test the engine is drained of oil and coolant. It is then crated with the correct conversion parts required for the awaiting Land Rover, whether that be a Defender, Range Rover or Discovery.

300Tdi Stripped / Long Engine:
A stripped / long block 300Tdi engine is partial built engine with cylinder head etc. This level of engine is a great option if you already have an existing 300Tdi that has serviceable working parts on or some parts that you have already upgraded / replaced, a reconditioned 300Tdi stripped engine is a great option to add these components to.
Our 300Tdi engine utilises a fully reconditioned 300Tdi cylinder block, the following process is carried out to the cylinder block:
- The cylinder block is stripped removing all core plugs, oil gallery plugs and cam bearings so the block is completely bare, this then goes through a special acid clean bath to remove the rust deposits found in the water galleries.
- After acid cleaning the block is rebored and honed to the first oversize, this is generally 0.5mm oversize, which brings the bore to 91mm from the standard 90.5mm.
- The cylinder face is skimmed, bringing the top deck back to new clean material.

- New core plugs fitted.
- New prefinished cam bearings are fitted.

- All bearings
- Camshaft

This level of engine is a great option if you already have an existing 300Tdi that has serviceable working parts on or some parts that you have already upgraded / replaced, a reconditioned 300Tdi short engine is a great option to add these components to.

- Con rods, cleaned with new little end bush fitted
After a short engine build is finished it is then crated with the correct parts and/or other engine parts to build up as a complete engine as required.
