Amazing power and low speed torque from this new engine. The variable geometry turbo gives an incredible 475Nm torque between 1750 and 2500 rpm. This engine transforms the performance of Tdci Defenders, the extra power and torque makes a huge difference for acceleration. It’s ideal set up for vehicles towing heavy loads on a regular basis.
Will also suit earlier Defenders with 6 speed Tdci gearbox fitted.

3.2 Tdci conversion Kit:
During 2016, here at M&D we developed our very own conversion kit to fit this engine into the 2007-2016 Defender. In 2018 we revised the ECU wiring harness so it plugs directly into the original vehicle connectors, making the installation quicker and easier, engine and vehicle wiring harnesses are supplied to connect the NEW 3.2 ECU to the Defender. The instrument panel (engine check lamp, tacho, engine temperature, oil warning lamp and alternator charge lamp) will work as normal. We have specially developed our own FEAD (Front end arrangement drive) to utilise the standard alternator, AC compressor and Power steering pump found on the 2.2 and 2.4 Tdci Defender. This is available for both Right and Left hand drive vehicles. The kit includes a whole new set of special air and water pipes/ hoses to utilise the standard radiator. A new Hi Flow intercooler is supplied in the kit, as well as a hi flow air filter to handle the extra capacity.
The engine is adapted to the standard Tdci 6 speed gearbox.
A new 260 mm clutch kit supplied. Optional heavy duty version available
The original Tdci engine chassis brackets are utilised.
The original Tdci radiator is used with a HD Intercooler supplied as part of the kit. New hoses and pipes are supplied.
A new hi flow air cleaner is supplied with new hoses.
The standard exhaust silencer and tail pipe are used together with a new front pipe.
The original Tdci alternator and power steering pump are used with the new 3.2.
The kit is complete with stand alone engine management system including, engine ECU and Injection module.
The conversion kit is complete with all parts needed and a comprehensive parts list & instruction booklet are supplied.
